HSUSU Executive Team Elections

General elections occur annually, between week seven (7) and week ten (10) of the spring Semester. Only active members of the Health Sciences Undergraduate Student Union who are declared Health Sciences major or minors in the faculty may be nominated. Members elected to the executive team maintain their position for one year (from May until April 30th of the following year).

Available Positions:

  • The president chairs all meetings, and coordinates activities of HSUSU. They ensure that the requirements or the Constitution and the decisions of HSUSU are carried out.

    *Note: This position is reserved for individuals who have at least one (1) year of experience in a HSUSU executive position.

  • The VP Internal Relations takes down meeting minutes and uploads them onto the HSUSU website and SFSS portal. They actively work with the marketing coordinator and with the liaisons to find and advertise student engagement opportunities.

    *Note: This position is reserved for individuals who have at least one (1) year of experience in a HSUSU executive position.

  • The VP External Relations creates emails to be sent to the advisor for large scale HSUSU events. They contact organizations both on- and off-campus for monetary, in-kind, and product sponsorship, as well as for collaborations.

  • The VP Student Life organizes and executes social events which are valuable to the membership. They set up necessary needs for an event to be carried out while maintaining the logistics of events.

  • The VP Finance maintains all financial records of HSUSU, including an accounting of all funds received and spent. They prepare semester budgets and financial proposals for special projects and events.

  • The VP Marketing updates all of HSUSU’s social media pages while collaborating with the Creative Director for promotional materials. They document all event through photography and videography.

  • The Creative Director is in charge of the brand image of HSUSU. They design tickets, HSUSU merchandise, and all other promotional materials.

  • The SFSS HSCI Representative acts as a legal member of the SFSS Board of Directors and a SFSS council representative. They attend all SFSS council meetings and follow all Simon Fraser Student Society requirements for a Student Union Forum Representative.

  • The UGSC Reps - Arts attend all Undergraduate Studies Committee meetings and updates the board on the activities and opportunities of HSUSU. They report back to the HSUSU board of any updates through faculty meetings.

  • The UGSC Reps - Sciences attend all Undergraduate Studies Committee meetings and updates the board on the activities and opportunities of HSUSU. They report back to the HSUSU board of any updates through faculty meetings.

  • The I-EDI Representative enhances communication within the FHS community, inclusive of faculty, staff and students, on indigenization and EDI.
